The MRF Maintenance Engineer will oversee all physical aspects of the recycling facility including the yellow equipment and the builidings mechanical systems. They will plan, direct and perform corrective maintenance on the heavy industrial production equipment and the buildings mechanical system.
Facilitates proper maintenance of all parts and areas of the facility including screens, conveyors, balers, yellow equipment and other mechanical systems to insure continuous operation.
Creates, schedules, implements, and manages a preventive maintenance program for production machinery and equipment.
Evaluates jobs in process and on completion to ensure they meet safety and work quality expectations.
Identifies materials, supplies, and repair parts needed and oversees their procurement, to maintain proper inventory and to minimize equipment failure and downtime.
Performs necessary repairs and maintenance as needed or assigned.
Works with equipment manufacturers to ensure maintenance staff are properly trained on the equipment they are responsible for.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Superior leadership, communication (verbal and written) and management skills with a proven ability to plan, direct and coordinate the work of employee teams with different skills and backgrounds.
Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations as they pertain to plant operation and maintenance.
Knowledge and expertise in recognizing, diagnosing and averting faulty operation of a wide variety of mechanical, electrical and auxiliary support equipment.
Ability to understand, learn, operate and repair the systems and equipment used at the facility.
Must have considerable experience using computer-based equipment and have the ability to perform, create and analyze various computer-based system checks an reports.
Ability to train subordinates on how to properly execute their position.
Ability to prepare and maintain logs of maintenance history.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
Ability to think outside the box to quickly solve machine issues.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to traverse and access all areas of the facility.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering strongly preferred.
