Job Function Maintenance Subfunction: Plant Maintenance
In this role, you’ll provide functional and economical engineering solutions to operations and maintenance problems through the improvement and maintenance of plant safety, reliability, efficiency and regulatory compliance in a responsible and progressive manner. You’ll provide engineered solutions for new plants and retrofit of existing generation facilities. You’ll maintain and improve the operation, reliability, safety and regulatory compliance of the company’s generating resources. Your experience in plant maintenance engineering can be rooted in any applicable engineering disciplines.

Supports ISFSI facility improvements with extended knowledge of maintenance engineering principles and ISFSI codes and standards. Applies knowledge to investigate, identify, and clearly define ISFSI facility problems and applies knowledge of the ISFSI to determine and deliver engineering improvements on proposed equipment and systems. Provides technical guidance and support to other staff members and contractors.
Maintains currency in state-of-the-art engineering practices and provides guidance and direction on engineering processes and standards to colleagues when requested. Supports improvements with extended knowledge of maintenance engineering principles and local codes and standards.
Engineering Production: Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects; coordinates multiple discipline activity. Develops and provides quality assurance reviews of ISFSI facility maintenance engineering solutions that meet technical requirements, all applicable codes, regulatory requirements, and sound engineering practice. Maintains and reviews ISFSI design basis documents.
Project Coordination: Actively coordinates with other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects, including representing the team to interdepartmental and external (regulatory) stakeholders. Plans, develops, and coordinates projects with complex design, construction, operation, maintenance, or testing elements in support of ISFSI facility maintenance engineering projects. Provides accurate annual budget and job estimates.
Serves as a technical specialist and provides consultation/guidance to project teams in a particular practice area; actively fosters knowledge management and provides mentoring; implements resource management strategy. Develops and delivers training of staff members on ISFSI facility practices and requirements. Provides and coordinates updates on critical safety topics to staff members. Participates in industry-related events for the purposes of benchmarking and learning about best practices.
Education: Requires a bachelor’s degree in any applicable engineering discipline from an ABET accredited engineering program or program accredited by an equivalent agency
Experience: Typically eight or more years in engineering, or five or more years in related field with PE license.
Certifications, Licenses and Training: Professional Engineering (PE) license strongly preferred; may be required based upon role.
