GMC is actively seeking an entry-level Engineer Intern to work full-time in our Montgomery, Alabama office. The applicant will be provided the opportunity to grow and develop their Engineering skills and career. The applicant must have good communication skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to work well with others.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
Develops broad knowledge and skills in a specific practice area
Evaluates, selects, and applies standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features
Collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments
Knowledge of and ability to apply standard engineering principles, practices, and regulations
Performs moderate design tasks
Prepares portions of project documents
Performs research and investigations
Ability to understand, interpret and apply national, state and local codes and standards
Assists in determining schedule and work requirements
Receives instruction on specific objectives
Receives direction on unconventional and/or complex problems and possible solutions
Receives a thorough review of completed work for application of sound professional judgment
Possesses effective oral and written communication skills
Communicates engineering ideas and evaluations effectively to individuals and groups
Demonstrates initiative, adaptability, dependability, and commendable personal conduct
Experience: 0 - 4years
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET Program
Licensure and Certification: Engineer Intern Certification preferred, but not required.
