The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Electromechanical Hardgoods Engineer, you will be a part of the Personal Safety Division Manufacturing Team, supporting our high growth portfolios of Powered and Supplied Air (P&SA) and Welding. Primary responsibilities will be to lead Value Stream projects for growth, quality, service and cost. You will lead the manufacturing responsibilities for the NPI (New Product Introduction) teams to scale up products / processes that meet our manufacturing strategies and objectives. You will also be working with our 3M plants globally and a diverse supplier base to drive quality and service improvement, cost reduction, lead-time reduction and strategic Source of Supply changes.

Working with 3M Plants and outsourced suppliers to manage product cost, quality and service.
Working cross-functionally with the Powered and Supplied Air and Welding Business Teams including; supply chain, laboratory, quality and marketing to deliver the business objectives and drive strategic Source of Supply direction.
Supporting new product teams and change management activities to qualify products and processes, including capability analysis.
Managing documentation of product quality, process understanding and specifications.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Three (3) years experience in a private, public, government, or military environment in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing engineering, product development, product engineering, new product introduction, process engineering, and/or product quality
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university
Five (5) or more years of experience working with manufacturing plants and outsourced manufacturing suppliers to manage product cost, quality and service
Previous experience with Electronics / Electromechanical manufacturing and Hard Goods, including molding and assembly
Understanding of LEAN principles and process capability; Green Belt or Black Belt trained
Experience with regulated products
Project Management skills with the ability to develop and meet timelines
Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
