Our Process PAE/Chemical Engineer position provides you the opportunity to work at our client site in Boise, ID. Each day, you will work in a collaborative team environment to help achieve all project goals. You will be a self-motivated professional, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical and/or process design in a high technology, industrial environment. You should be detail oriented, client focused and have a desire to grow personally, as well as professionally. As a Fab Support Pollution Abatement Engineer you will be responsible for providing high quality engineering services for planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of site pollution abatement systems in support of a fabrication facility in semiconductor manufacturing. In this role, you will work within the Facilities Engineering organization and with tool owners, and system owners (Process, Equipment, Hazard Analysis) and equipment vendors, to develop pollution abatement strategies and systems.
Responsibilities include the following:
Be aware of and perform all work in accordance with company and client safety guidelines.
Review process by-products from production equipment and recommend abatement strategies.
Develop sequence of operations (SOO’s) for abatement design.
Provide engineering and review of facilities work orders and provide support to PAC operating personnel.
Complete flammability calculations.
Create interlock and safety testing check sheets for each project.
Material Selection & Compatibility Review – Fore line and Exhaust line components.
Design for Process/Facility systems including waste streams, chemical distribution, bulk and specialty gases, ultra-pure water, pollution control, mechanical/process wet and dry piping systems (all systems). • Provide engineering required to produce drawings for installation of process equipment and systems according to client standards.
Develop drawings and conceptual plan studies within discipline and/or project standards with little guidance from others.
Participate in Hazard and Operability studies (Haz-Ops).
Provide preliminary sketches of design ideas for approval.
Produce process design, construction, and specification documents.
Provide engineering consulting associated with construction of industrial production facilities, semiconductor tool installations, Process and Mechanical Piping system design related to facility engineering.
Responsible for maintaining various administrative and engineering data bases in support of job tracking, engineering data, equipment facilitation, etc.
Specify critical components for design projects and is responsible for assuring designs meet all applicable codes and regulations. This requires continual review and analysis of new equipment, applications, and technology.
Implement safety into all engineering designs.
Perform field inspections of existing systems.
Estimate construction cost.
Possesses communication skills per the following; o Communicate scope requirements and project needs to the client and team members o When called upon, write tech memos to adequately update team members on new designs, and technologies that embrace safety and process improvement.
Make independent technical judgment on details.
Serve as a lead engineer in small ($25,000) to medium ($4,000,000) projects.
Provide information to facilitate assignments to others.
Receive guidance from a department manager, or project manager.
Provide code review and analysis utilizing (but not limited to) IFC, IBC, NEC, NFPA, FM, and Semi standards specific to abatement systems.
Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or related
Internship and/or post grad experience in facilities-related engineering (some experience in semiconductor fab facilities is highly preferred), with advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and design drawings; fluent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, database within MS Office Suite. Extensive understanding of Chemistry as it relates to safety hazards, environmental impacts, and mitigation strategies within the semiconductor industry.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Experience in semiconductor manufacturing facility design, supporting tool installation projects
EIT, PE, or minimally, ability to obtain within 2-4 years.
