Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Product Developer is responsible for supporting a core technology component area for a specific business as well as customers. You will drive and support the research group in a given implementation of business defined technology needs. This position serves as a leader in process development, process improvement and piloting efforts and as a resource in one or more broad core technology components. You will be developing, leading and executing research projects that are complex in nature and may require multidisciplinary approaches. At this level, performed work is under minimal supervision and the role is expectedly to independently seek moderately complex issues while referring more complex problems to higher-level staff.
Provides subject matter expertise to project teams and functions by offering technical guidance and scientific insight for new process development and process improvements.
Ensures projects proceed according to plan and results are documented and communicated.
Leads new product or high-performance innovation efforts.
Identifies and leads evaluations of external process or manufacturing technologies or facilities.
Identifies and develops new process or product opportunities that create distinct value and enable business growth.
Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
Supports and complies with corporate/local safety and food safety policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in food engineering ,chemistry, engineering, or related field.
4 or more years research and development experience
Experience in process automation, artificial intelligence OR process modeling
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
Ability to travel up to 10%
Master's degree or PhD in food engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field
2 or more years experience in process automation, artificial intelligence (AI) and process modeling
5 or more years experience in food industry Research & Development
Experience in scientific paper and patent writing
Frying oils analytical test experience
Experience in developing, leading, and participating in multidisciplinary teams
Self-driven, skilled in work planning and execution, seeking out self-development and improvement.
