As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will support system setup, execution, and analysis of critical measurement operations. This work will involve lab development, production support, integration operations, and test execution.
The PSE group interfaces directly with vehicle design, production, launch systems, and other test and operational groups. We put a strong emphasis on teamwork, coordination, and service to support all Blue Origin team needs. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.
Conduct metrology system setup, execution, and analysis within lab, production, integration, manufacturing, and test environments as a member of the CAM team
Support production, manufacturing, and test personnel in planning of CAM operations
Collaborate with team members and responsible engineers to set priorities and manage timelines for CAM projects
Support project plans to reach metrology related goals
Support development and documentation of standard operating procedures and calibration routines
Support development of metrology solutions with a cross-functional engineering team to address recurring and off-nominal scenarios
Interpret engineering drawings for dimensional inspection – Provide guidance for implementing metrology features for design engineers
Execute surveys to aid assembly and product verification with contact and non-contact point acquisition, surface scanning, and photogrammetry systems
Report data with respect to engineering requirements using dimensional inspection software and Microsoft Excel
Support engineering functions to make informed decisions regarding process, testing methods, and strategies that support delivery to customer
Consult with design and manufacturing engineers to improve drawings and inspection methods
Maintain cutting edge field competency and work within industry to maintain forward looking metrology techniques and plans
Minimum one (1) year of experience in computer-aided metrology set-up, execution, documentation, and analysis
Solid understanding of dimensional inspection standards
Solid understanding of measurement technologies and methods
Solid understanding of operating, calibrating, and maintaining contact and non-contact point acquisition, surface scanning, and photogrammetry instrumentation
Experience with Spatial Analyzer software and GOM Inspect Professional software (or equivalent)
Ability to interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5
Experience working within AS9100 or equivalent regulatory quality assurance program
Able to lift up to 50lbs to setup equipment
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Three (3) years’ experience in computer-aided metrology set-up, execution, documentation, and analysis
Proficiency in software programming, with an emphasis on machine communication, metrology applications, robotic programming, and CAD
Coding experience with respect to scripting
ASQ Certified Calibration Technician rating
Experience with modeling and assembling in CATIA V5 and/or CREO Parametric
