SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Manufacturing Engineer is part of the Value Stream Team reporting to the Value Stream Manager. The Manufacturing Engineer along with the rest of the team are responsible for driving and delivering on all the departments Key Performance Metrics; Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Growth.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Owns the manufacturing process.
Designs, develops and implements process improvements.
Trouble-shoots daily production issues and implements permanent corrective actions.
Becomes the technical expert for the Value Stream and the go to person for any manufacturing related questions.
Investigates any safety or quality report or issue and utilizes problem solving tools and methodologies to implement permanent corrective actions as appropriate.
Participates in, lead and facilitate Kaizen events.
Uses their Lean tool kit to; develop value stream maps, establish Kanban where required, develop layouts (workplace/plant/line/functional areas), and to help drive daily kaizen with the team.
Create and maintain standard work documents and method sheets for the value stream.
Provide training and support to the production team on processes.
Develop custom tooling and fixtures to improve efficiency. Work with Tool Room and Maintenance personnel and outside sources, as required, to accomplish the task.
Coordinate the activities of contractors during projects.
Act as a liaison with design and sustaining engineers on new or modified designs.
Write capital expenditure requests.
Maintain focus on continuous improvement through researching innovative, cost efficient business solutions.
Adhere to all Company policies, safeguard the company's interests and act in an ethical and legal manner as well as report all violations of Company policies and procedures to appropriate management.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
CAD skill set, preferably in Solid Works.
Problem solving skills.
Experience designing and using manufacturing fixtures and tools.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and PowerPoint.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task.

Exposure to noise sufficient enough to cause worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
Physical conditions include proximity to moving mechanical parts and vibration.
Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes and dust but not to the extent of being disagreeable.
