We are recruiting for an experienced and highly motivated Field Application Engineer to provide pre- and post-sale technical support for our customers. The Field Applications Engineer role is part of our Global Support Team that works closely with the Abaco Engineering and Sales teams that provides technical guidance to our customers. You will engage in a collaborative, rapid-changing environment in support of ground-breaking innovative technologies.
This position specializes in the support of Abaco’s FPGA and RF products in an exciting high growth market. The fast-paced Abaco RF&DSP team develops leading-edge ruggedized ADC, DAC, and digital signal processing products as part of a global company providing turnkey and off the shelf solutions for the commercial, medical, defense and science industries.

Provision of pre-sale technical support for the development and implementation of customer applications dealing with complex systems.
Promotion of Abaco products and solutions through customer calls, roadshows, seminars, Lunch & Learns Technology Days, trade shows, white papers, and exhibitions.
Work through all phases of customer interaction including customer analysis, design implementation and product manufacturing including pre-and post-technical support.
Assist teams in assessing potential applications of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications.
Contribute documentation that further enhances user experience with the Abaco products.
Technical responsibility for pre- and/ or post-sales support of company products/systems.
Implementation of detailed customer installation plans and some training.
Provides follow-up support in disseminating technical information on specific applications.
Contribute to business intelligence - Gather information about market trends and competitive offerings. Provide feedback to Abaco internal teams on programs and products (be a part of the New Product Introduction process!).
Ensure that Customer (and Supplier) Relationships are well managed.
Capture customer technical requirements and accurately, support qualification and upselling all Abaco Products.
Help Regional team drive new Design Wins to ensure long-term revenue growth for ABACO
Identify product requirements specific to market needs and provide input to the Product Management Teams for product planning.
Work closely with Product Management, Engineering and Sales Teams to ensure that ABACO business objectives are aligned with our customer’s strategic direction.
Provide input, coordinate and participate selected tradeshows, technology days and industry events.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent and minimum of 5 years of related experience or a Master's degree and minimum of 2 years of related experience
Strong Technical expertise in A/D, D/A, Digital signal processing
Demonstrable practical experience in the Mil/Aero Embedded Systems industry.
In-depth expertise in FPGA, VHDL coding and Xilinx development tools
Good understanding of analog RF circuits and electrical engineering fundamentals.
Experience with MS Office Suite and C/C++ programming language.
Strong understanding of the sales process.
Strong communicator with excellent presentation skills.
Working knowledge of typical embedded applications such as radar, sonar, C4ISR, mission computing, targeting/tracking, SIGINT, electronic warfare, communications, to be considered. Technical/practical background desired in the Embedded systems industry, spanning open architecture computer platforms, including but not limited to VME, VPX, CPCI, PCIe, Networking, Graphics, Signal Processing, PowerPC and Intel architectures
Highly organized and able to multitask; coupled with strong analytical ability, attention to detail will be instrumental to success.
Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident.
Specific knowledge of VxWorks, Linux and other leading Real-Time Operating system Software.
Experience working with high-speed DDR memories, LVDS interfaces, and various communication protocols (PCI Express, 10/40G Ethernet, Aurora, etc.) is desired.
Experience in Systems Engineering/Hardware and Software Integration.
Excellent HW/SW problem-solving skills and ability to see “The Big Picture”
Team player, self-starter, highly motivated individual.
Ability and availability to travel.
