What you can expect in a typical day:
In this role you will identify, develop and implement standard processes and procedures including key controls; identify and implement process improvement opportunities; and support continuous improvement and leading change efforts to ensure process changes are adopted and stabilized.
What you’ll need to succeed:
Develop process improvement recommendations that include cost/benefit analysis
Develop an approach to demand management, identifying “needs” vs. “wants” and quantify the financial impact of the wants
Lead stakeholder reviews and identify continuous improvement opportunities
Design and drive an engagement protocol designed to build value in the relationship among the internal stakeholders – business and other functions
Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot manufacturing/business and production issues, material flow, project plans, etc.
Design and lead development of industry best practices for department methodologies and processes
Look beyond policies, work with executive management to develop policies which focus on improved management and governance
Identify high-level organizational change issues by identifying necessary, competitive changes in business processes and their impact on structure and other organizational systems
Evaluate change efforts over time and develop new strategies for renewing and/or deepening the changes
Work with team members to support and build on the training provided in process management training
Lead the development and assessment of process documents
Examine service and cost from every angle and continually raise the bar
Develop a comprehensive data gathering plan that efficiently and reliably identifies and uses key data sources and methodologies
Define roles and expectations of team members and ensure timely feedback
Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
Proven ability to multi-task and driven to produce quality deliverables within project deadlines
Ability to work in a high pressure and fast paced environment
Minimal travel required
Education and experience:
Professional Engineer designation required
Training in process improvement tools, preferably a Black Belt or alternate Six Sigma certification
10+ years of business experience
5-10 years of project management or process improvement experience would be considered an asset
5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
Strong assessment and analytical skills required
Proven ability to influence and negotiate
Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
Excellent problem solving and research skills
Ability to identify creative solutions
Experience in the energy business would be considered an asset
