Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Latin America Business Developer to join its International Division to develop and implement initiatives to grow partnerships and sales with Latin American distributors and companies. Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wears prescribed safety and protective equipment.
Manage relationships with distributors, partners, and prospects in area of responsibility.
Meet sales goals set by Great Plains International in area of responsibility.
Provide information, quotes, terms, and other bid specifications to customers.
Develop growth strategies and establish distributor and business relationships in Latin America.
Seek out and research prospective opportunities through making phone calls, traveling, attending conferences, and utilizing the Internet.
Promote new and existing products and services and grows sales in area of responsibility.
Provide training on products and services, technology, sales strategies, and support resources.
Organize and assist in product and service demonstrations, field days and trials
Represent company at trade association shows and meetings to promote products.
Plan and direct advertising policies and programs to promote the products and services.
Monitor and analyze sales promotion results to determine cost effectiveness.
Provide periodic reports to management on sales activities and results, prospects, and relationships in area of responsibility.
Provide Spanish language translation between internal and external partners as needed.
Provide periodic sales forecasts to management for area of responsibility.
Provide input to the management team on new product or service features to be developed to meet current and future customer needs.
Estimate market demand for current and future products and services based on market research, competitive analysis and consumer trends.
Provide support to management in deal negotiations, contract development, due diligence, and other business development or alliance development projects.
Provide feedback to service department on critical issues and warranty in area of responsibility.
Communicate with internal departments on orders, shipments and schedules to ensure that orders are processed and shipped with accuracy and efficiency.
Monitor office tasks and recommends quality improvement initiatives to the GP international president.
Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical machinery
Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English is required
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software concepts
Ability to travel up to 60% both domestically and internationally
Ideal candidate will reside either in the Salina, Kansas area or within Latin America with the ability to travel to Salina, Kansas on a regular basis
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
