JOB DUTIES

You will be responsible for the design, development, testing and validation of high-reliability electro-mechanical subassemblies, assemblies and systems and test equipment. The position requires the ability to follow a rigorous development process from initial concept to product delivery.

Some projects require analysis of complex customer technical requirements to determine a design approach, characteristics and details.

R&D projects begin with a problem statement, and the development of a technical approach and requirements, followed by the design and development process. You will adapt and improve existing designs and technologies, but also at times develop new products.

You must be proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software, and experienced in the creation of complete design packages, including drawings and models of components and assemblies, parts list drawings, BOMs, etc. Should be trained in ASME GD&T Standard Y14.5 or equivalent. Should be familiar with MIL-STD 810 and DO-160 environmental design and test standards.

In addition to design tasks, you will also prepare various plans, analyses and reports, including qualification test plans, procedures and reports, FMEA, FEA, etc. You will contribute to and participate in technical design reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR, etc).

Your ability to work well within a project team is essential - collaborating, innovating and problem-solving internally with electrical and software engineers as well as with customers.
