CarFinance, with over $1B in loans funded, is leading the automotive fintech revolution and seeks a Jr. SQL DBA to join our rapidly growing technology team, as we continue to deliver upon our revolution roadmap. We are interconnecting the diverse leaders in the automotive vertical into a powerful fintech ecosystem.

The Jr. SQL DBA is responsible for supporting the development, testing and production Microsoft SQL Server environments which drive the CarFinance custom applications portfolio, including the CarFinance.com experience, lender/partner integrations, portals, and business operations systems. Our data/analytics teams are driving many new initiatives in 2019, troubleshooting customer support issues and further increasing our ability to scale.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
As CarFinance expands its Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) efforts, we are seeking a talented Jr. SQL DBA to step in and take the reigns for many of our daily development and production database management operations. This is a great opportunity to grow and learn.

Manage and coordinate the CarFinance Microsoft SQL Server environments
Develop, deploy and troubleshoot SSIS packages and other automated tasks
Create and manage SQL Server Agent jobs
Manage database user/role permissions
Support the API team for database refactoring
Collaborate to build scalable, testable and maintainable solutions per product requirements.
Innovate, iterate and deliver swiftly and frequently.
Continuously seek innovative ways to improve development productivity and quality through the introduction of new technologies, tools systems, and processes
Where applicable, help execute test cases and smoke test implementations
Learn quickly and be an expert problem solver

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
2+ years managing production Microsoft SQL Server database environments
Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server or similar databases
Ability to write and debug T-SQL Queries, DMLs, DDLs, and stored procedures
Fluent in using Git, GitHub or Bitbucket in a team environment.
Experience in working in an Agile (Scrum) environment
Ability to think creatively and strategically
Must have strong teamwork orientation and ability to promote collaboration within teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a wide variety of audiences.
Familiar with cloud-based environments, Azure preferred

Preferred:
Experience with ETL, SSAS, data warehouse modeling, and implementation
RedGate or other multi-environment data migration tools
Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar BI reporting tools
Understanding of Entity Framework and schema mapping techniques.
Experience building scalable, highly available and low-latency enterprise level systems
Experience with RESTful API (JSON, XML, etc.) design and consumption
Experience working with remote teams, including off-shore/contractors, is very beneficial
Experience in secure coding practices and data security.
Prior financial services, automotive or similar industry experience beneficial
