A DevOps Engineer with Jelecos is responsible for developing solutions that leverage, integrate, and provide continuity across the IT disciplines of Development, Quality, Automation, and Operations Management. A DevOps Engineer will gather and analyze customer requirements and help lead continuous integration, delivery, automation, and infrastructure-as-code efforts for our AWS service offerings.

Primary Responsibilities:

Providing implementation of and consultation around key DevOps processes and technologies for clients:

  • Provide technical, consultative, and delivery services to customers for DevOps initiatives
  • Participate in designing and building systems, for our customers, for maximum performance, reliability and scalability
  • Assist the Delivery Team in developing offerings including proven architectures, proofs of concept, and best practices for delivery
  • Utilize a variety of tools, techniques, and procedures to resolve problems
  • Execute projects on time, on budget and of deep quality
  • Obtain and maintain certifications within the DevOps discipline
  • Provide internal training and knowledge transfer to other technical consultants and staff, as requested or necessary

Technical Knowledge and Experience:

  • 3+ years of knowledge of the AWS ecosystem
  • 4+ years professional, hands on experience with mid to large scale environments in development and production settings, including implementing, troubleshooting, managing, configuring, and patching
  • Expertise in multiple DevOps tool sets such as: Chef, Puppet, Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, SaltStack, and GitHub among others
  • Possession of (or working towards) AWS DevOps Professional certification
  • Experience with process automation
  • Experience with infrastructure scripting using shell, Python, Ruby, or Perl scripts
  • Fluency with devops concepts, e.g., deployment processes, microservices, serverless architectures
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes
  • Experience with modern source code management, preferably Git
  • Passion for secure application development

  • Able to provide technical support to the presales teams for services and product support
  • Communication: communicating with various levels of employees across the organization, from developers to architects to upper management, and to a technical and non-technical audience
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of multiple teams
