Development and implementation of innovative and competitive packaging: designs, materials, technologies, systems and processes that are aligned with GOJO strategies and business plans.
Develop technical competence in the packaging function that is capable of supplying robust technical and scientific recommendations in support of GOJO Total Solutions. Plan, organize, and drive packaging projects to deliver innovative and competitive packaging for new products, line extensions, and packaging improvements projects.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Designs and Develops packaging for new and existing products
Documents package components and assembly requirements
Expedites implementation to meet the needs for market introduction of new products
Employs effective practices to achieve robust quality attributes and low cost, with easy manufacture and assembly
Evaluates current packaging for design improvement for quality or cost
Participates in line trials of new components
Provides technical support to manufacturing for trouble shooting packaging problems
Coordinates assembly of packaging/product to test at outside labs/vendors
Obtains packaging samples and information from vendors
Constructs mock-up prototypes
Manage project schedules to meet business requirements
Holistic packaging development to consider all customer needs
Collaboration across enterprise functional groups to achieve optimum business results
Education and Experience
BS degree in Package Engineering, packaging sciences, or equivalent. 0-5 years for Engineer 1, 3-10 years for Engineer 2, experience in consumer products, cosmetics, Health and Beauty Aids, pharmaceuticals, or food science industries.
Overnight Travel - sporadic - required.
