Amentum is actively seeking a Naval Architect to provide technical support for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) Code 242. The position will be located at Naval Station Norfolk, VA.
Conduct/technicalevaluations of structural analysis and load calculations to ensure the sound design and compliance meeting US NAVY requirements.
Specialized experience in troubleshooting and assessment, repair, and maintenance of ship structures on US Naval ships.
Specialized hands-on experience working and inspecting ship structures, tank, voids, intakes/exhaust systems knowledge of welding requirements.
Demonstrate knowledge about sheet metal, preservation, insulation, piping and electrical systems on Naval Ships.
Utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for reviewing and compiling information for data entry and transferring files and electronic/digital scans.
Communicate effectively in writing and orally.
Experience in maintaining, organizing, tracking the status, and prioritization of engineering documents (both physical and electronic records).
Must possess a 4-year Engineering Degree from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) school.
Experience in the assessment, repair, and maintenance of ship structures on US Naval ships.
Position requires an active Secret clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
