Vishay, EFI is currently seeking a Vacuum Deposition Equipment Engineer in our Warwick, RI manufacturing facility. The position is responsible for ensuring that the Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) equipment is maintained and functioning at peak performance. You’ll be asked to work with Process Engineering and Equipment Maintenance Technicians to improve tool performance to meet uptime, throughput and yield goals through equipment and process enhancement. Responsible for supporting manufacturing with equipment issues, troubleshooting and repair/replacement of equipment and components as necessary. Assists the Facilities Manager as needed.
Correct production equipment problems by determining root cause and providing short and long term solutions as needed.
Plan and complete equipment continuous improvement tasks and projects independently and as a leader of a continuous improvement team (CIT).
Work closely with Process Engineering to manage changes and qualifications effectively.
Conduct, review and institute new or revised equipment preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and conduct training as needed.
Work with outside vendors and engineering on equipment upgrades and modifications.
Maintain equipment downtime database and provide reports to Facilities Manager.
Order and/or stock additional repair parts and supplies as determined to enhance the established spare parts inventory system.
Create and manage database for sputter equipment with the Metals Process Engineer
Experience with high vacuum equipment and vacuum technology.
Sputtering or PVD experience is preferred.
Experience with PC and PLC technology.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to understand and reach schematics and effectively troubleshoot problems with equipment.
Responsible for budgeting and assisting with development of future budgets and requests for capital projects.
Working in clean rooms with gowning requirements and tight spaces.
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
Good writing and documentation skills.
Positive attitude and the ability to function in a highly dynamic environment.
Bachelor degree in Engineering and 2+ years of experience or equivalent.

This position is open at our Vishay Electro-Films facility located in Warwick, RI. Vishay Electro-Films is a leader in the manufacturing of thin film components, networks, and arrays on ceramic and silicon, including resistors, capacitors, inductors, and microwave components.
