This position leads, facilitates and supports resolution to problems using progressive problem solving techniques and statistical methodology. Position provides oversight for the metallurgical lab activities and personnel and is responsible for compliance audits, periodic testing, product evaluation and report generation.
Facilitate compliance to NADCAP requirements for chemical process areas.
Work with the Manufacturing and Product Engineers to develop solid corrective actions to eliminate the non-conformance identified. (Corrective Actions must include some mistake proofing to prevent recurrence.)
Responsible for area quality metrics, data collection and analysis.
Monitor key process parameters to isolate problem areas and correct the potential for escapes and waste.
Lead and Support Quality Clinic (immediate response MRB) activities.
Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process quality.
Daily interaction with operators and supervision to identify and improve product and process quality.
Perform internal and/or supplier quality audits.
Oversight and training of quality related process and system.
Minimum 4 year Degree in a technical field (Manufacturing Engineer, Chemical or Metallurgist) and ASQ certifications with prior aerospace industry experience preferred.
ASM Metallurgical certificate desired, and may be a condition of employment depending on education/experience.
Proficient w/ Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/Powerpoint).
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and daily activities.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Working Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (or as assigned)
