The Associate Engineer will be responsible for providing package engineering support for new and existing pSemi IC products. This will include elements of package assembly characterization and qualification, generating necessary technical documentation, interfacing with off-shore assembly contractors, and sustaining production issues.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position has responsibility for:
Developing integrated circuit packaging and manufacturing solutions
Performing package feasibility studies and package selection
Planning and execution of package characterization Design of Experiment (DOE)
Packaging support to multiple functional groups (new product development teams, marketing, quality, etc.)
Generating and coordinating package technical documentation
Interfacing with off-shore assembly suppliers
Supporting sustaining production, driving failure analysis activities and resolution of quality issues, analyzing yield and directing improvement activities
Working with subcontractors to resolve manufacturing issues
Performing electrical, mechanical or thermal analysis
Creating and maintaining metrics to measure product quality and project schedules
Executing cost reduction projects

Experience using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks

Knowledge of Design of Experiment concepts
Understanding statistical process control and yield management
Experience with statistical analysis software/tools
Bachelor’s in Engineering (Packaging, Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Nano or Chemical), Physics or Chemistry
This job operates in a professional office and production/development environment. This role routinely uses standard office and testing/production/development equipment found in a semiconductor organization.
