Role Overview:

Ready to tackle the challenges of product development and tapping into new markets? KCnG is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead R&D Engineer for the investigation, evaluation, and application engineering of new products/processes. You will be leading the research, design, discovery, and approval process working closely with OEM’s, engineers, supply chain, and plant teams. A strong background in machine vision and AI is desired.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing a team of technicians
  • Working with the team to prioritize projects, determine collaboration opportunities, leveraging best practices, and manufacturing technologies.
  • Providing regular communication on projects and status updates, in addition to work in progress and future resource management.
  • Tracking and reporting monthly metrics.
  • Optimization of existing processes to improve production capability and reproducibility
  • Develop action plans for resolving technical challenges.
  • Direct the timely completion of technical projects relating to product improvement, product maintenance, manufacturing improvement, and commercialization support initiatives through individual contributors.
  • Responsible for the management and development of technical staff which includes timely completion of performance appraisals, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Collaborate with Internal Engineering Team, Quality, Production
  • Maintain safe operating procedures through complete knowledge of safety rules and lab procedures.
  • Ensure projects are prioritized with Technical Manager, marketing, tracked, and executed on time.
  • Contribute to the identification of the needs in terms of resources, equipment, and investments
  • Establish detail break down of the activities to meet the milestones
  • Follow activities and spending of project within the allowed budget
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements Technical competencies:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
  • Bachelor’s in engineering is necessary
  • Masters-level degree and/or a PhD in engineering, machine vision, artificial intelligence or equivalent is a plus
  • Experience working with products and technologies
  • Understanding different chemistries in development of metals
  • Coaching through project completions
  • Achieving measures and / or metrics
  • Travel Requirements 10%

Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in an engineering environment, preferably focused on manufacturing
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate their ability to work within a cross-functional environment (plant, OEM’s, suppliers)
  • Proven track record in launching successful innovations
  • In addition, the successful candidate will show an attraction to industrial challenges, demonstrate competencies in R & D; theoretical, data analysis

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
