POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Associate Equipment/Processing Engineer will work in a cross-functional environment to provide equipment/process engineering support for engineering initiatives at HIM Lake Forest. This role is an entry-level position and will assist with the design, construction, installation and coordinating of the processes of the packaging lines.
Measure, analyze and evaluate improvements pertaining to equipment and processes.
Coordinate with suppliers to furnish parts and equipment to specification as needed.
Work with in-house manufacturing and contract manufacturers to ensure that the process and packaging procedures provide consistent operating conditions.
Assist with troubleshooting issues with components, materials and machinery processes in coordination with quality, production, operations, maintenance, vendors and OEMs.
Draft protocols and perform packaging line and process capability trials in support of commercial deployment of systems.
Provide support to validate line work, including FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ & PQ, at HIM LF facility to ensure machinery and processes meet all requirements.
Develop SOPs to ensure procedures consistently meet all required operating standards for processing and packaging.
Partner with manufacturing, technical operations and R&D in order to effectively create new formulations and to specify which processing equipment is compatible with new formulations and the manufacturing strategy of HIM LF operations.
Research innovative technologies to promote the Herbalife ‘Build it Better’ culture.
Capture and institute engineering standards based on learnings from previous projects for use in future Herbalife manufacturing projects.
Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety rules and regulations
Assist with other duties as assigned.
Flexible with work schedule (minimal overtime and weekends may be required).
Knowledge of basic technical skills, such as understanding formulations, process and procedures.
Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under general supervision.
Ability to handle multiple activities and organize workload for effective implementation.
Must be able to work effectively as a team member and interact positively with all staff, clients and third parties, individually and in a group setting, and with all levels of management.

Knowledge of GMPs and other regulatory requirements.
Experience with Outlook, MS Word and Excel.
0-2 years of related Equipment, Packaging, Processing Engineering and/or related Engineering manufacturing environment, including internship experience.
Working knowledge of materials, process, equipment.
Ability to understand equipment and operation functionality to establish and optimize productivity.
Experience with trouble shooting, drafting and/or knowledge of ACAD 2D
BS degree in an Engineering discipline
BS Degree in Food, Bioprocess, Agricultural, Mechanical or Automation
Regulated (GMP) environment (Nutritional, Food, OTC, Pharma) a plus.
Experience in Powder blending and packaging, Liquid blending and packaging
Experience in Tea blending and packaging
