The Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources is seeking an innovative and self‑motivated Engineer to join the Petroleum Royalties Group within the Energy Policy Branch in Regina.
Reporting to a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible to:
perform engineering analysis and evaluations with respect to oil and gas Crown royalty and freehold production tax (royalty/tax) structures and incentive systems;
evaluate industry applications and requests regarding oil and gas royalty/tax-related programs and design and administer systems related to royalty/tax designations;
design, develop and operate computer models used to forecast provincial crude oil well-head prices, production, value of production, and royalty/tax revenues as well as related investment, employment and activity levels;
prepare both short- and long-term forecasts to be used by government for budgeting and planning purposes; and
monitor global energy issues that impact on crude oil prices, supply and demand.
The successful candidate will be an innovative problem solver who is thorough, attentive to detail, and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The successful candidate will possess a university degree in Engineering and be eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).
