The R&D Verification Engineer will conduct software testing of ANSYS Fluids applications such as ANSYS Fluent, ANSYS Forte and ANSYS Chemkin. The R&D Verification Engineer helps to assess how well the product will meet customer needs both in terms of functionality and usability and ensures that product requirements and quality standards are satisfied.
The person who fills this position will possess knowledge of computational fluid dynamics as well as strong computing skills, including an aptitude for computer programming/scripting.
Performs software product testing and investigates possible causes of problems per the company's overall development and testing processes
Complies with the company's quality procedures
Performs functional, application, regression and performance testing in a manual or automated environment
Assists in analyzing requirements, producing test specifications and designing test cases for new features within the appropriate environment
Creates and modifies test scripts for automated testing, documents tests and test procedures
Issues defect reports; verifies defect fixes
Improves test specifications through root cause analysis
Participates in testing initiatives and improvements to the testing processes
Perform other assigned tasks as directed to improve the overall quality of ANSYS Inc. products
Bachelor's Degree or the foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
A solid understanding of computational fluid dynamics
Experience with using ANSYS Fluent and/or other ANSYS CFD and meshing products
A general understanding of CAE systems
A thorough and careful approach to work; close attention to details and quality; strong organizational skills
Ability to take initiative, behave with integrity and respond maturely to direction
Ability to establish good working relationships with Development, Testing, Software Quality
Assurance and Support staff
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong computing skills with demonstrated knowledge of applicable operating systems (including both Linux and Windows)
Demonstrated knowledge of scientific programming/scripting languages
Competent in the use of general office software applications such as mail tools, document editors, spreadsheets and databases
General skills in planning and problem solving; strong aptitude to learn new things
A genuine passion for testing and quality assurance
Master's degree or the foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
1-3 years of related experience preferred.
Experience testing commercial CFD software testing experience would be a clear advantage
