By joining the Hazard Section in Perry County, as an Engineer-In-Training II, you will have the opportunity to perform intermediately complex engineering work to obtain and develop professional engineering techniques and review, analyze and perform complex engineering activities.
Holders of the Engineer-In-Training II will complete tasks such as:
Perform complex and professional engineering work.
Work on highway maintenance and construction projects.
Work with budgets.
Work with contractors.
Holders of this position will obtain the following skills:
Learn to complete highway maintenance projects.
Work on highway construction projects.
Learn to work with maintenance and constructions budgets.
Perform complex engineering work.
Desired candidates possess the following skills or experience applicable to the position:
Worked with budgets.
Worked with highway constructions and maintenance.
Have engineering experience.
Additional Information: This position will require standing, stooping, bending, lifting, sitting at a desk and some travel.

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of engineering experience in addition to that required for certification as an Engineer- In-Training I.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in engineering will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess a valid driver's license prior to appointment in this classification. Certification as an Engineer-In-Training recognized by the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. http:// http://kyboels.ky.gov/ Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Incumbents working in this title will perform duties in an office and/or field setting.
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
