Gear Software Technical Sales and Support Engineer

Position Summary:

The KISSsoft Technical Sales Support Engineer is responsible for helping to support the technical sales and engineering of the KISSsoft product for the US and Canada. You will work directly with US and Switzerland operations to help support, develop, and grow KISSsoft Sales and technical capabilities in the US and Canada.

Job Responsibilities:

Software Technical Support:

  • Support KISSsoft customers with technical questions related the use of the software
  • Help customer with licensing and installations
  • Provide customers with software evaluation versions
  • Communicate with customers over the phone and email to help answer any software related questions
  • Create support videos and training materials

Sales:

  • Provide introductory software demonstrations to potential new customers
  • Understand customer design requirements and recommend specific modules and licensing solutions
  • Prepare budgetary and formal quotes to customers for new software, training, and engineering services
  • Learn how to use and update all necessary business systems associated with the software
  • Gain and manage customer relationships using a CRM system
  • Occasionally travel to customer facilities for software demos, presentations, and trainings
  • Follow-up with customers regarding open quotes, annual maintenance payments, and test licenses
  • Help improve and automate internal sales and software management processes
  • Support and expand relationships with different Universities

Training:

  • Learn and become an expert in the software
  • Assist with organizing and teaching basic training classes, both in person and virtually
  • Prepare training classes using training materials, presentations, and shared with the team in Switzerland

Engineering:

  • Become proficient with the software and gain enough experience in order to assist with engineering/design consultant activities using KISSsoft, KISSsys
  • Participate in and support any technical papers to help promote company capabilities and expertise
  • Provide suggestions for software enhancements and features based on your experience and market feedback.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Communicates technical information in writing and verbally effectively and timely to both internal and external customers.

· Ability to manage own time and prioritize assigned tasks to meet or exceed deadlines.

  • Aligns daily activities to departmental policies and procedures to ensure needs are met with products of high quality, technical excellence, and low manufacturing costs.
  • Proven ability to manage all details of customer programs including determination of requirements, task assignments and tracking, communications to customers, and reporting of status to all levels of the organization.

Preferred Education/Training/Experience:

  • Solid Model 3D and 2D drawing creation experience using Solidworks or Creo preferred
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ of related experience desired
  • 3 years of experience using KISSsoft/KISSsys
  • Knowledge of gear design, materials, and manufacturing processes a plus
  • Understanding of transmissions with gears, shafts, and bearings a plus
  • Engineering design experience a plus
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered

Travel Requirements:

  • 10-15% of the year
  • Customer facilities for presentations, demos, and training classes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
