Position Description:
The Advanced Systems Associate SW/Continuous Improvement Engineer will

Support the development, integration, and management of new systems to aid in the development and management of new technology products and processes

Work closely with Advanced Program Lead Engineers to develop software tools, data visualization methods, automated web interfaces, and support research into new methods of connectivity, and other emerging technologies, to support GDLS' Agenda of Innovation

Learn and apply a Systems Engineering processes in the course executing continuous improvement projects

Support the development of use cases to enable the definition and refinement of system requirements which proactively fill Customer capability gaps

Support integration, build and test/evaluation activities for prototype subsystems and vehicles

Support initiatives to improve and optimize SE processes and adoption of new tools to enable our ability to go further and faster with R&D investments

Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:
BS in Software Engineering or Computer Science discipline required. Fewer years of experience will be required with an advanced degree.

  • Basic level familiarity with most relevant coding languages such as Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, C, C++, HTML, etc.
  • Familiarity with operating systems like Linux, Unix
  • Understanding of computer and network architectures
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Some experience with automating data capture, sorting, and re-presentation with custom algorithms
  • Experience with troubleshooting software and computing hardware
  • Experience with achieving deadlines in a collaborative development environment
  • Strong communication skills and spirit of collaboration
Occasionally must lift and carry equipment weighing 40 lbs.
