JOB DESCRIPTION – BUILDING ENGINEER
Reports to Facilities Manager, responsible for operation, performance, maintenance and repair of all major building systems and grounds utilizing trade skills, experience and knowledge.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect and perform maintenance or repair of all major building systems including but not limited to: HVAC, EMS, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety, etc.
  • Complete assigned service requests from tenants via company work order system ranging from hot/cold calls to light bulb replacements
  • Coordinate, oversees and inspects preventative maintenance and repairs performed by outside contractors
  • Ensure safe conditions around buildings during fair and inclement weather
  • Inspect of vacant space, clean and repair as necessary
  • Daily communication with Facilities and Property Manager
  • Must be available to respond to after business hours emergency calls
  • Performs other duties as required/assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum of four years of related experience and/or trade school training
  • Advanced knowledge of all major building systems, including but not limited to HVAC, mechanical, EMS, electrical, plumbing, and life safety
  • Certification in plumbing, mechanical, electrical and boiler or completion of certified training programs preferred

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record required; must have personal, reliable transportation
  • Efficient, reliable and courteous customer service to building tenants
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and organization skills
  • Working knowledge of computers and software (Windows, Outlook)
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
  • Ability to pass criminal background check
