The Project Engineer position at EverGreene provides field and administrative support to the project teams including project setup, estimating, project execution, document management and closeout procedures and well as manage administrative projects related to Project Management, including Safety and IT initiatives. Role Responsibilities include:
Develop an understanding of the prime contract, subcontracts, purchase order agreements, and allowance items as well as contract drawings and specifications.
Procure necessary material and equipment.
Review all submittals for compliance with the contract documents and coordinates submittals with subcontractors.
Prepare and review change orders, including time extensions, with the appropriate personnel before submittal to the owner. Maintain a change order log and, upon receipt of executed change orders, distribute documents as required to company and subcontractor field personnel.
Prepare cost control budget adjustments with Project Manager, Superintendent, Foreman, or Estimator and execute in a timely manner.
Maintain "As‐built" contract documents. Compiles close‐out requirements, including operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, and other job‐specific items required by the specifications.
Assist Project Manager in the management of overall general construction safety programs. Demonstrate commitment to an injury-free work environment through own actions and mentoring others.
Assist Project Manager in the management of subcontractor performance and ensure subcontractor compliance with contract.
Assist Project Manager with distribution and follow-up of paperwork.
Assist in implementation of project strategy and commitments including financial goals, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones and inspections.
Demonstrate and maintain effective and open dialogue with the project team regarding changes in work, job conditions, subcontractor relations and any deviation in the direction of the project.
Safety Responsibilities include:
Manage safety initiatives and act as advocate for a safe workplace
Maintain and track employee certifications
Monitor employee progress on-site to ensure compliance with EverGreene’s safety program
Coordinate worksite inspections with outside safety contractor
Oversee the prompt reporting of injuries and safety concerns. Inform employees of the availability of medical programs to assist them in the case of potentially hazardous exposures or injuries.
Proactively identify and implement safeguards to prevent hazardous situations
Take safety knowledge learned from direct field experience and integrate into/improve existing EAA safety programs.
Works closely with PM’s, Superintendents, and sub-contractors to ensure implementation of safety policies
Requirements & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Historic Preservation or related field
2-3 years relevant work experience in the construction field preferred
General knowledge on the construction industry & contracting
OSHA 30 and 4-hour NYC scaffold Certification; Understanding of OSHA regulations and safety policies
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Google Suite. Experience with Bluebeam, NitroPro a plus.

Work Environment/Job Conditions:
This job is performed both in an office setting and on job sites. Office work requires frequent sitting (working on a computer), frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there is a repetitive motion of the hands and wrists.
Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), walking, bending, standing, climbing heights, stretching, twisting, or reaching with your body, arms, and/or legs.
Must be able to safely use manual tools and/or power equipment common in the construction trades.
Must comply with OSHA safety procedures at all times including the consistent and proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirator and sometimes ear protection.
Willingness and ability to become certified in project mandated certifications (i.e. – Lead/ Lifts/ First Aid / CPR).
