Manage all aspects of Machining operations to include employee training, scheduling, equipment evaluation and maintenance, tooling requirements, planning and adherence to customers On Time Delivery requirements.
Machinist Level 1
Must be familiar with basic tool terminology, cutting feeds and speeds, material names.
Must be able to perform basic math and understand basic trigonometry.
Must be able to read prints, drawings and related specifications.
Must be able to part off materials, perform boring, facing and drilling.
Must be able to rough and machine stainless steel carbon steel wt-6 and hard-faced stainless materials.
Must be able to perform basic inspection of parts and be proficient in the use of calipers and micrometers.
Machinist Level II
Must be able to perform all functions of a Level 1.
Must be able read and interpret programs, sharpen tools, grooving, taping, cut jaws and do basic setups.
Must be able to machine plugs, bushings, seat rings retainers and other similar parts.
Must be able to work with WT-1, WT-12, WT-21.
Must be able to use comparer and ID micrometers.
Machinist Level III
Must be able to perform all functions of a level 2.
Must be able edit programs, perform threads, serration, run between centers.
Must be able to machine stems, assemblies, balls, cages.
Must be able to work with nickel based, Inconel, Nitronic 50.
Must be able to use depth micrometer, centers, run outs, and perform first articles.
Machinist Level IV
Must be able to perform all functions of a Level 3.
Must be able create programs, work with tight run-outs, tight tapers.
Must be able to machine washers, machine assembly’s, diffusers, sleeves.
Must be able to work with WT-35, Norem, Monel and other rare alloys.
Must be able to perform full inspections, do inspection reports and surface finish measurements.
Machinist Level V – Programmer
Must be able to perform all functions of a Level 4.
Proficient with tooling selection and Insert choice.
Proficient with Machine Shop Programming Software using CAD/CAM.
Proficient in machine tool set ups using all Machine Shop equipment.
Must Understand Weartech’s Quality Policy and Objectives, and how they their job function contributes.
Must understand the relevance and importance of meeting customer requirements.
Must develop competence to applicable procedures, specifications, and work instructions associated with this job.
Immediately notify supervisor and/or Quality department upon discovery of nonconforming product.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY (EHS):
Know and understand the client's EHS Policy and how it relates to the requirements and tasks associated with the job.
Anticipate and immediately report any unusual or unsafe situation to the Shift Supervisor, Department Manager, or EHS Coordinator.
Follow safe operating instructions and only operate equipment if properly trained and according to manufacturer’s specifications.
Attend all required EHS training related to the job description by designated deadlines (See EHS Training Matrix).
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
High School diploma or equivalent for all new hires.
Must be able to read and write in English.
Basic arithmetic and understanding of drawing tolerances, dimensions, and interpretation of drawing notes.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS :
Five years Machining experience with Turning Centers or Vertical Mills.
