We are looking for a skilled, resourceful, and collaborative Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our team in the Burlington, VT office. The Geotechnical Project Engineer will work closely with a team of staff engineers and scientists on challenging and exciting projects focused in Vermont and throughout New England. This is a great opportunity to work on exciting and fulfilling projects while living in the Green Mountain State which offers many outdoor recreational activities in majestic and beautiful surroundings. The assigned projects will be technically challenging and provide the candidate professional growth.

Essential Functions-What You Will Do

  • Assist with project management tasks, including developing proposals, budgets and attending project meetings.
  • Coordinate and perform field investigation programs.
  • Collect, interpret, and analyze field and laboratory data.
  • Prepare reports, design plans, cost estimates, specifications, and other deliverables.
  • Formulate preliminary conclusions, recommendations, and strategies to address environmental or geotechnical site issues.
  • Observe and document complex construction activities.

Competencies-What We Are Looking For

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in the geotechnical engineering or a related industry.
  • A Master’s degree in civil engineering (with a geotechnical focus) and a professional licensure (or ability to obtain licensure) is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • A strong attention to detail and technical understanding is required.
  • Additional consideration will be given to candidates with experience in deep foundations (driven/drilled foundations, ground improvement, grouting and support-of-excavation) for both private and public clients.
  • Previous slope stability evaluation and analysis experience is also a plus.

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday with flexible daily hours.
  • Located in Burlington, VT (Remote Option).
  • Travel to office and project sites - approximately 50% of the time.
