ASRC Federal Research and Technology Solutions is hiring a Red Hat Linux Systems Engineer for our contract supporting the DEA in Sterling, VA.
Install new or rebuild existing servers, services and storage in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
Develop and maintain installation, configuration and security procedures.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
Responsible for daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, logs, systems and key processes.
Knowledge of Red Hat management and provisioning solutions
Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6/7 Administration
Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation a plus
Experience with JBoss Enterprise Application Platform a plus
Experience with Splunk IT Infrastructure monitoring and Event Log Management
Experience with VMware vCenter and vSphere virtualization solutions is a plus
Knowledge of DISA STIG security compliance with the ability to implement FISMA compliance by applying NIST 800-53 security controls
Ability to keep up with current technology trends
Ability to multitask and coordinate multiple projects concurrently
Strong organizational and communication skills (written and oral)
Individual contributor than can influence consensus for a large cross functional team
Must be a US Citizen
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field.
8+ years of hands on experience working in an enterprise environment as a Linux Engineer.
RHCA or RHCE certification is a strong plus.
Must be a US Citizen to meet contract requirements.
Must be clearable to obtain a public trust clearance.
