Test Specialist – eDrive Systems
As a Test Specialist for eDrive systems, you will primarily be responsible for conducting component-based evaluations of electrified driveline systems such as axles, motors, inverters, transmissions, and other electrified components. Your responsibilities will include supporting a variety of projects involving the controls and testing of powertrain, driveline, and driveline components. You will be expected to support projects with a high level of professionalism while meeting and/or exceeding our clients' technical requirements. The specialist responsibilities will include planning and creating test setups, pairing efforts for motor/inverter pairs, performing experiments, and interpreting results to provide insight into strategy and performance of these systems. Understanding motor and inverter types, controls strategies and how to pair these systems using Id/Iq tables is key.
5+ years of experience in related positions
Working history and understanding of motor, inverter and transmission hardware
Motor/inverter pairing experience
Experience with powertrain/vehicle/test cell data acquisition
Demonstrated experience in eDrive testing
Demonstrates interest in new technologies
Hybrid systems / high voltage system knowledge
Working knowledge of electric drive units and hybrid transmissions
Test cell operation and setup experience
Programming (Excel/Visual Basic, Matlab, etc.)
Data acquisition equipment HW/SW such as ATI Vision, ETAS INCA, ADAPT/iTest, MORPHEE, CANoe, CANape, CANalyzer, CSM, etc.
Understanding of electrical circuits / wiring
Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office preferred
BSEE or BSME preferred but not required
Regularly required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 5-10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
