Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer in John Deere’s Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) focused on Crop Care Software located in Austin, Texas, you will be a member of an embedded development scrum team working with multiple stakeholders to build and implement functionality for self-propelled application equipment. In addition, you will:
Lead technical development in the designing, developing, and testing of software for a broad spectrum of application equipment functionality
Participate in functional requirement and test plan analysis to drive improvements in system and software implementation as well as quality.
Operate in a scrum team environment on varying projects with direction from a project lead(s).
Analyze medium to high complexity customer needs and requests to help formulate plans for execution with minimal supervision.
Provide product support of the system.

What Skills You Need
Demonstrated technical leadership in designing systems
Demonstrated coaching and mentoring to helping other team members grow
5 or more years of experience with C or C++
Expert-level experience troubleshooting and debugging low-level embedded hardware
Expert-level experience in CAN communications
What Makes You Stand Out
Multiple years of experience in system engineering
Multiple years of experience of modeling using Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow
Multiple years of experience with Qt
Experience with CAN communication protocols such as J1939 and ISO 11783
Experience with control system design
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies/tools
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering, Science, or Technology-related discipline
