The Machine Vision Applications Engineer position primarily involves enabling the sale of a Power Motion’s, Machine Vision Systems/Sensors, Industrial Controls, and Technical Services, by providing solutions to a broad array of manufacturing opportunities. This includes utilizing and recommending machine vision cameras, lensing, and lighting techniques, machine controls, sensors, PLCs, system design concepts, and the application of computer programming methods.
Specific duties include:
Recommend appropriate products and solutions to satisfy customer needs and meet their budget requirements.
Guide and educate customers in determining and understanding best solutions.
Prepare professional and complete application evaluations and quotations.
Participate in system design, specification, and programming of machine vision systems and controls.
Provide on-site start-up and commissioning assistance of machine vision systems.
When designated as Project Manager, supervise all aspects of the project to ensure conformity with the quote, delivery, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Make field service calls to troubleshoot, fix, replace, modify, and optimize existing systems and components.
Participate in joint sales calls with outside sales staff for the purpose of lending technical support.
Provide product demonstrations as well as training for engineers, technicians, and operators.
Respond to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints with urgency to ensure timely resolution.
Keep all administrative documents accurate and current.
Demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, and organization in the execution of job duties.
Continuously increase your understanding of the products and the ability to use them by participating in available training classes and through self-training.
Promote a cooperative work environment, follow company policies and procedures, and act in harmony with the company Mission Statement.
Some travel is required, including occasional stays for 1-4 nights.

The ideal applicant has been exposed to industrial machines and controls, and is interested in machine vison technology. They must possess strong verbal and technical writing skills, be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks, be creative and have the desire and aptitude to evaluate and quickly provide solutions to complex opportunities.
This is a hands-on job that involves office/lab-based work, as well as working in various industrial environments. Work hours during installation and startup of projects can be non-standard/subject to the customers’ requirements.
Bachelor/Associate degree in engineering or equivalent experience required.
