The position will support strategic targets for IMI Precision Engineering Americas by identifying, measuring, analyzing, and improving existing processes, as well as establishing new processes to meet organizational goals and objectives.
Manufacturing Experience at the site level is a must/required.
Lead or organize Kaizen events to improve flow, improve productivity, and reduce waste, lead-times and inventory. Utilize various lean techniques including value stream mapping, standardized work, SMED, TPM, Pull systems etc.
Evaluate organization wide value streams and lead initiatives to improve on time delivery, increase productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Use a systematic, disciplined and data driven process incorporating root cause analysis, basic problem-solving tools such as 5 Why analysis, fishbone diagrams etc. to identify and permanently solve problems.
Assist HSE Director in regulatory analysis and tasking for compliance calendar development.
Working in compliance calendaring software to ensure task, ownership, tracking data systems are set up and documented with procedures.
Working in company Loss Prevention Software to develop automated reports, data analysis, reporting and action item management processes.
Support operating sites in Risks Assessments and controls tracking.
Manage Lean and HSE projects to achieve results across multisite and internationally based teams.
Collaborate with key process owners across the organization to plan, lead and implement strategic Lean and HSE processes, policies and procedures.
Design and develop documentation including HSE procedures, process flow diagrams, work instructions, and protocols for processes.
Assist with incident investigations.
Lead Lean and HSE assessments providing actionable feedback to sites.
Building and maintaining Lean and HSE communications, such as lessons learned, story boards, assessment reports, assessment schedules, among others.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in related field.
5+ years of experience in manufacturing and process improvement environment.
Proven project management experience.
Skills and Competencies
Requires strong manufacturing process understanding.
Excellent understanding of overall business processes with proven results leading a variety of functional areas.
Demonstrated strengths in project management and ability to successfully manage projects with multiple complex tasks
Proven track record for analyzing and improving processes using Lean process improvement methodologies.
Thorough understanding of problem solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e. thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to lead teams, facilitate meetings, and communicate to a wide range of stakeholders.
Excellent analytical, statistical and mathematical skills.
Strong people skills, good organization and planning skills, and ability to manage more than one task at a time.
Experience on change management to address cultural and behavioral issues that result from a Lean and HSE culture conversion.
