Who we're looking for
Toyota's Connected Technologies Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Software Systems Engineer II.
The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and design software to create maintainable, tested code while complying to Toyota's SDLC practices.
Reporting to the Software Development Engineer - Manager, the person in this role will support the Connected Technologies department's objective to deliver amazing and personal cockpit experiences that are beautifully designed, relevant, intuitive, convenient, and predictive.
What you'll be doing
Developing and designing software to create maintainable, tested code while complying to Toyota's software development lifecycle (sdlc) practices while learning and applying new technologies, programming practices, patterns, and methods.
Hands-on coding exposure and experience writing maintainable code in one or more programming languages.
Testing, documenting, and following API standards and knowledge share created services.
Working in an Agile software engineering environment to continuously integrate and deliver software components while following/defining good continuous integration, deployment practices.
Working in a team and contributing to practices including peer review, software roadmap definition with product owners and identifying areas to improve customer experience based on continuous improvement of existing services, product, and platform.
Creating microservices based applications using Java or Golang and deploying into the public cloud infrastructure as containers (using Kubernetes) or managed services (AWS EKS, Fargate, and others).
What you bring
Analytical thinking and problem solving demonstrated successfully with relevant engineering experience.
Collaboration and ability to adhere to/contribute to good engineering practices.
Hands-on experience with microservices development using public cloud.
Added bonus if you have
Experience coding and creating software (Java and/or Golang).
Knowledge of industry standard programming language, tools, techniques.
Working level experience with AWS public cloud.
