Our large-scale rodent phenotyping systems measure and record up to 500 parallel data streams every second from our sensor arrays to yield rich data sets of animal physiology and behavior.
We are seeking a passionate, persistent and creative Data Scientist I who loves problem-solving and identifying patterns in these complex data sets.
$90,000 - $96,000 per year DOE + benefits
As Data Scientist I you will:
Maintain and further develop a library of data analysis tools (macro collections and scripts) both for customer and in-house use
Adapt existing analysis macros to user needs (customization/parameter tuning)
Collaborate with a cross-functional team using agile principles for iterative product improvement cycles based on user input
In collaboration with Product Management and Development define and implement new data analysis product offerings
Collaborate with the Development team in testing and validation of new and existing analytical tools and/or products. Once tools are tested,
Own the process of macro version management, categorized and released to Technical Support for analysis of specific user applications
Assist Customer Support and Marketing teams with analysis and data visualization needs in response to customer study design parameters.
Support Research team with exploratory data analysis
Participate as a trainer for the data analysis sections of our in-house training courses

KEY ATTRIBUTES: The ideal candidate for this position:
B.S. degree in Data Science/Computational Biology with 3 years of work experience, or M.S./Ph.D. in Data Science/Computational Biology
Strong ability to independently troubleshoot and solve problems.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, agile work environment.
Can work independently and take initiative with a can-do attitude.
Required: R or Python, Statistics, Time Series Analysis, Signal Processing, Data visualization
Knowledge of .NET languages (C#, VB.net), C/C++, MATLAB, SQL, Software engineering (SCM, Azure DevOps, CI); Web- and/or mobile application development; Tableau; Big Data (Hadoop, Apache Spark); cloud-based computing; ML/AI
Training in Biology/Physiology/Kinesiology
Publication experience in peer-reviewed journals.
Must be qualified to work in the US
