BAE Systems Platforms and Services is seeking a Senior Technical Manual Developer to support the M88A3 Single Vehicle Recovery (SVR) program and other Combat Vehicles Programs at the Sterling Heights, MI location. This full-time position in contingent upon Contract Award
Writes and revises technical data for operation, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of combat vehicle programs. Duties include gathering and organizing technical information, recognizing and leveraging common data and material across platforms and promoting commonality, and preparing information and text for technical manual publications.
Coordinates with engineering and program team to understand engineering and/or program changes, and communicates impact of changes to developed or planned technical manuals and other logistics products (to logistics, engineering, and customer teams).
Additional duties include review of other writer's technical content for technical accuracy, review of parts lists, bill of materials, and RPSTL for accurate parts, Source, Maintenance, and Recoverability (SMR) codes for applicable maintenance, participation in technical manual validation, Logistics Demonstration, and customer verification events and Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to other functions.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Ability to read engineering drawings/blueprints.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team - will need to interface and work directly with internal and external stakeholders/customer.
Understanding/knowledge of US Army and United States Marine Corp vehicle recovery/recovery systems.

Preferred Skills and Education
Familiarity with MIL-STD-40051-1/2 and differences with versions of MIL-STD.
Understanding of MIL-STD Maintenance Allocation Charts (MAC) and the entries, maintenance functions, and times that make up the MAC.
Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-1222
Technical writing and technical quality review experience.
Familiarity with authoring Extensible Markup Language (XML).
Experience supporting Technical Manual Validation, Logistics Demonstration, and/or Technical Manual Verification events.
