ENERCON is currently seeking an Decommissioning Engineer in our Pittsburgh, PA office. This position will assist in increasing work from existing clients, improve customer satisfaction, and add to a solid base. We desire a well-rounded individual who can represent our reputation as a leader in the Engineering and Nuclear industry. The individual selected for this position will have a broad understanding of environmental regulations, remediation, and decommissioning maintenance, operations or other routine work that involves radioactive materials.
Support the development and implementation of regulatory governance, oversight, processes, and guidance for ENERCON’s work on regulatory products related to decommissioning
Provide support on client decommissioning strategies
Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analysis in support of decommissioning projects and programs
Monitor changing regulatory trends and maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, guidelines, practices, and industry standards as they pertain to decommissioning
Review, edit, and organize documents in the preparation of large and complex decommissioning projects and regulatory submittals, as well as smaller technical submittals, topical reports, and white papers
Develop relationships with current and potential decommissioning clients with regular interface to ensure client satisfaction as well as pro-active identification of support opportunities
Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Engineering
Past decommissioning experience on Nuclear Power Plants preferred (co-op or internship)
Knowledge and understanding of regulations, regulatory agencies, and the regulatory processes
Able to represent ENERCON and/or clients at public meetings, and other regulatory agencies meetings and workshops
Strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-making
Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at secure sites and meet client security requirements
Ability to work in time constrained regulatory environments while maintaining a quality product
Able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment
Ability to travel when needed, duration of travel length varying depending on project and client needs. International travel may be required.
Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings; ENERCON and client specific background checks; and an annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies
