KAAP is seeking a Maintenance Reliability Engineer for our Bowling Green, KY plant. The Reliability Engineer works with the maintenance and Forging team to investigate equipment problems and find root causes. This position will implement recommendations for equipment modifications and upgrades to improve machine performance. The Reliability Engineer has overall responsibility for the total preventative maintenance crew (TPM). The Reliability Engineer is also responsible for setting up proper equipment inspection, testing programs, performing equipment "end of life" assessments, and making recommendations for equipment repairs and replacements.
Investigate equipment problems and design modifications to improve reliability, productivity and safety using failure analysis to determine root cause and recommend improvements.
Assist with equipment repairs by working with Maintenance team, original equipment manufacturers, aftermarket suppliers, and outside repair shops.
Regulate and monitor maintenance project progress executed by company personnel or outside service providers.
Ensure compliance with all mechanical codes, standards, regulations and industry best practices (ASME, API, ANSI, OSHA).
Facilitate a dedicated TPM crew of Maintenance Technicians to accomplish all TPM activities safely and on time.
Maintain and update required PM activity check sheets, SOP’s, and work orders as necessary to maintain and improve equipment reliability, based on down time data and failure prediction.
Reduce down time and develop bottleneck improvement activities pertaining to equipment.
Improve the tracking of MTBF mean-time-between-failures.
Prepare the Repairs and Maintenance budget for their respective area and oversee spending per budget.
Coordinate shut down TPM activities, major overhauls, and shutdown planning for internal and external activities.
Assure customer (Production Department) satisfaction through improving equipment reliability and close communication on TPM activities.
Reliability Engineering experience in a plant or manufacturing environment.
Strong wide ranging technical skills in mechanical/instrumentation systems.
Proven record of safe and effective work practices in an industrial environment.
Capable of developing and implementing tracking systems to support continuous improvement programs.
Previous Combustion experience preferred
Formal training in Root Cause Analysis.
Training in Reliability centered maintenance a plus
Bachelor in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
