We are seeking excellent CAD Design Engineers to join our team of Dash System Optimization Organization to deliver the best customer experience in area of instrument panel and cross car beam. Using the latest technologies, virtual CAD/CAE tools and processes to design, optimize and verify all requirements upfront is our exciting opportunity to bring smart vehicles fast to market.
The System Optimization team will lead the optimization effort to manage risks, reduce complexity, interface across multiple functional and attribute teams. You will have great opportunity to learn, share and grow within Ford Motor Company.
Lead design for IP/CCB/HVAC components and assemblies
Support Engineering Supervisors and their teams
Develop Surface CAD Models and drawings
Calculate stack-up of detail components
Design/work engineering changes
Determine critical dimensions, clearances and tolerance
Provide technical direction to other engineers and support staff
Check manufacturing drawings to determine proper fit, finish, function and correctness information
Lead cross-functional alignment between D&Rs in different functions to comply with the requirements
Provide input and support to lead design engineer for BOM and/or dimensional changes
Support development of standards and methods
Provide quality CAD for CAE engineers to mesh
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related degree
5+ years of experience in CATIA Surface Design work
3+ years of experience in interior components and assemblies (IP,CCB,HVAC)
Understanding of design and release process, Digital Pre-Assembly, Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA) methods
Knowledge in DFMEA methodology
Experience in GD&T and ability to do dimensional stack-up Analysis
Experience with various manufacturing processes: plastic injection molding, metal stamping.
System Engineering knowledge
Experience in concept modeling
Experience in product bench marking
Strong business acumen and excellent written and verbal abilities
Strong interpersonal skills including relationship building
Experience working in cross functional teams is beneficial
Fully competent with Microsoft Office Tools
