We currently have an opportunity for a Project Engineer in Training. In this role you will have the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team that is reshaping the telecommunications and utilities industries. Some of the responsibilities include:
Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting outside plant infrastructure data;
Preparing civil and cable designs and drawings for GPON/FTTP, copper and RF designs;
Visiting job sites before, during, and after design;
Understand and correctly apply industry specifications and standards;
Managing projects from inception to completion;
Project tracking/management, including budgets;
Liaison with software teams to assist with software development;
Maintaining company standards while dealing with clients;
Design, provision, document, and complete OPE design;
Perform site visits to collect measurements, observations, and photos;
Research and development of new process and technology;
Uphold and promote adherence to Training, Operating and Health and Safety Procedures;
Some travel maybe required; and,
Other duties as requested by manager.
We are looking for someone who:
Holds a BASc or BEng degree;
Is proficient in 2D AutoCAD with knowledge of SpatialNet add-in being an asset;
Has experience or an understanding of telecommunications infrastructure, power distribution infrastructure or underground utilities;
Demonstrates a strong customer service ethos and can build effective, lasting relationships;
Can effectively and efficiently navigate through Microsoft Office and G Suite applications;
Shows a willingness and desire to collaborate, share knowledge and solve unique problems;
Has a proven record of hands on delivery;
Is registered or eligible for registration with EGBC or other recognized affiliation as an Engineer in Training (E.I.T).
