NRP Investments LLC is currently seeking a Construction Risk Manager.
Under the direction of the VP of Construction Safety, the Construction Risk Manager is responsible for assisting with overall management of comprehensive corporate risk management/insurance program with a concentration on risk identification, risk transfer and risk retention techniques. Coordinates closely with operations/project management, safety and legal while implementing risk management policies and procedures to protect company's assets and minimize liability exposures.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day interaction between all project participants, brokers and insurers related to risk management and insurance issues.
Coordinate review of insurance and bond related legal provisions with NRP legal department.
Analyze and understand insurable risks and potential risk mitigation opportunities; interact with operational groups to ensure coordination between project activities, exposures, and appropriate insurance coverage.
Review, initiate and direct the appropriate insurance coverage and pricing for all new bids and projects.
Work with client/owner insurance representatives to ensure proper placement and coordination of any project specific insurance policies.
Relay job specific insurance requirements to VPs of construction and project team and work with broker on any warrants that need amended.
Coordinate with project managers to review scopes of contracts to ensure that sub-contractors are carrying the correct insurance level.
Verify through RIMS or other system that all subcontractors are carrying the correct levels of insurance prior to starting work onsite.
Review and analyze terms and conditions associated with proposed Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIPs and CCIPs); function as liaison between all participants.
Review and analyze loss control and trending reports, and coordinate with Safety to develop appropriate action plans.
Maintain knowledge of trends in construction insurance industry, including thorough working knowledge of insurance products, coverage and pricing.
Work closely with Learning and development to identify educational needs, and assist with presentations and sessions focused on insurance and risk issues.
Assist with internal communication and advertising strategies related to all risk management initiatives.
Work with insurance adjusters, legal department and outside counsel in connection with accidents and other insurable events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s degree required
5 years of related experience in insurance and risk management preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in all relevant property and casualty insurance policies preferred
Proficiency in commercial surety preferred
Strong project management skills, results-driven, adaptable with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines required
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated organizational skills
Placing project specific insurance programs for home and apartment building activities, including land development, vertical construction, and habitational risk (as to multi-family divisions)
Assistance with building master insurance programs for multi-family risk transfer
Assessing the need for and placing environmental policies on all types of construction
Tracking individual insurance programs for renewals
Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook
Driver’s License Required: Yes
Other Requirements: ARM or CRIS professional designation preferred
