The role will be providing information technology services to perform a variety of critical data quality tasks to include correction (including the merge and un-merge of records erroneously merged), and de-duplication of data (the detection and resolution of duplicate identity records); as well as to maintain and update the probabilistic matching infrastructure that supports identification of duplicates and other identity issues.
Job Description: Work on a fast-paced team responsible for monitoring and maintaining Data Quality within an Oracle production databases (DEERS) containing military healthcare information. Work includes both responding to urgent data quality issues as they arise as well as proactive analysis to discover and research previously unknown problem areas. Role has potential for advancement for high-achieving individuals.
Develop in-depth understanding and knowledge about the variety of data stores, data sources, applications and tiers that make up the DEERS architecture
Manually examine tasks generated by internal tools to identify, resolve and prevent duplicate person identities and data quality issues.
Work closely with other data quality team analysts, management, project managers, business analysts, developers, quality assurance and DBAs to determine root causes for data quality issues
Actively collaborate with others on business rules underlying the data
Monitor reports for data anomalies requiring examination.
Develop SQL and PL/SQL to find, investigate, and map out strategies to correct data quality issues
BA/BS Degree or equivalent + 0-3 years of experience
U.S. citizenship (required by Government client) / Visa not allowed
Experience with Relational Database concepts
Basic Knowledge of SQL
Good verbal and written communication
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
Basic Knowledge of Microsoft product suite (Words, Excel, Access, OneNote, etc.)
Secret clearance or above
Excellent problem solving and analysis ability
Previous Department of Defense (DoD) experience
Self-driven with ability to work on many concurrent projects and deliver results on each
Ability to multi-task to manage differing sets of data requests and analytics
Basic Knowledge of SQL query optimization
