Well established 40 year old luxury pool builder seeks an experienced Landscape Designer to join our team. Tremendous opportunity for growth. We work all year. This is not a seasonal position. We operate out of Bergen County NJ and service a 60 mile radius. We need a candidate to generate fair, thorough and accurate design proposals. Communicate the design and installation processes to clients to help ensure realistic expectations, help them make better decisions and to recognize the importance of the design expertise. Introduce clients to other services and products that help ensure the vision of the design and that the client’s evolving needs are met. Follow up with clients before, during and after the installation takes place.
Design
- Draft plans in AutoCAD and 3D modeling
- Develop presentation into construction details and drawings
- Client communication and relations
- Prepare documents and drawings for engineers
- Project take-offs and estimates
- Building and zoning department permitting process
- Site measurements and base map creation
- Prepare construction documents for pool and landscape projects
- Use Property survey to create scaled base map
- Perform site visit and prepare accurate base map of existing conditions
- Ability to use transit and establish grades
- Prepare conceptual designs and preliminary project budget
- Color render plans for client presentations
- Prepare sqft and material take off and estimates for proposal creation.
- Accurate material take offs
Project Management
- Assist with plan layout.
- Assist with acquiring material as required for projects
- Maintain paperwork including job cost, change orders, and other project activity
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or Landscape Contracting
- 3-5 years of full-time experience in Landscape Design, preferably commercial design
- Proficient with computer software programs including Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Microsoft Office Suite
- Hand drawing skills a plus
- Strong horticultural knowledge
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Requirements:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting and 3D modeling is required
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
- Pool Studio experience a plus
- Experience with landscape and/or pool design is strongly desired
- Knowledge of concrete, patio and building construction preferred
- Experience working in an architecture or design firm preferred
- Strong customer services and sales skills
