United Safety-Fireboy-Xintex, based in Grand Rapids, MI, supplies a broad line of safety equipment to the marine, transportation, land-based, and other industries. Currently, we are seeking a dedicated Technical Inside Sales Representative to provide technical application support for the sizing and selection of equipment.

Responsibilities:
As the Technical Inside Sales Representative you will:

  • Handle phone calls from customers, sales representatives, and distributors.
  • Provide technical support by sizing equipment and interfacing with Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Assist VP of Sales & Marketing in the completion of individual projects, proposals, and orders.
  • Provide quotations to customers that:
  • Accurately reflect the solution for the project to meet the customer’s requirements.
  • Meet the appropriate codes and standards.
  • Comply with company guidelines.
  • Result in company-approved profit margins.
  • Maintain organized project files.
  • Become versed in the complete line of Company products.
  • Understand applicable codes and regulations.
  • Follow up with customer’s leads and quotations to ensure timely continuity of projects.
  • Assist Customer Service with order entry.
  • Follow orders through manufacturing, installation, and start-up.
  • Strive for continuous quality improvement.
  • Support Sales representatives with travel as needed.
  • Support trades show and conference efforts as needed.
  • Support Marketing efforts, including developing a working customer database.
  • Generate drawings and Detection books to explain proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or relevant experience
  • Some application engineering experience or exposure is helpful.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including e-mails.
  • Good engineering and analytical skills.
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office 365, AutoCAD or SolidWorks, MAGI, and Sales Force experience are a plus.
  • Self-motivated team player.
  • Strong customer service attitude with a quality-focused mentality.
  • Strong work ethic with the desire to learn something new every day.
  • Experience in fire safety systems is a plus.
