Position summary: The Telecom Engineer troubleshoots and resolves phone hardware, software and related technology device problems. Maintains, installs, upgrades, and configures telephone hardware, software, devices and the overall voice experience. Must be able to travel, work different shifts, after hours and be on-call. May perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications: BA Computer Science or Engineering or minimum 7 years' relative experience Excellent knowledge of the following systems: Avaya systems, Nortel, Avaya Aura voicemail, Avaya servers support, Nortel 1000M,1000E, Avaya Cm8, Session Manager, System Manager, Option 11, Amtelco call center or other call center platform, Spectralink Versity, 8040 and 6020 model including Sam server, overhead paging systems and vendor management experience. Project management and document implementation of phones from Nortel to Avaya for in house and off site locations. Ability to develop and maintain documentation pertaining systems. Move, add and make changes on Nortel and Avaya phone systems. Ability to order and ship out Telecom hardware.
Preferred Qualifications: Avaya Solutions Administrator. Specific skills, personal characteristics, physical abilities- ability to lift 50 pounds, ability to stand for extended periods, preferred 10 years of experience with Avaya systems and Nortel Systems.
