Our Structural Team designs cost-effective and safe solutions for a variety of education, commercial, industrial, military, energy, and public sector projects. The Structural Engineer II provides all engineering and technical support needed to take these projects from start to finish and deliver an exceptional, quality product to our clients.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provides AutoCAD drafting, calculations, design, assignment coordination, etc.
Oversees and provides guidance for project drafters and engineers, including drafting setup, foundation and roof framing plans, details, revisions, and others, on a project level.
Applying the basic principles of structural design elements including but not limited to vertical design (dead loads, live loads, wind loads, snow loads, etc.), lateral design (seismic and wind), and detailing of structural connections.
Perform structural design tasks and calculations with minimal supervision from others.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, technicians, clients, sub-consultants and others in the design of structural building systems on a project level basis.
Oversee the creation of project documents. These design documents include design submittals (preliminary, schematic design, design development, construction documents, reports, etc.), plan check and bid documents (including specifications) and other documents required by the plan review process.
Provide support of projects in the construction administration phase which may include responses to RFIs, change order requests, product submittal reviews and periodic site visits (punch lists, project sign off).
Ability to represent structural team in marketing interview with potential or existing clients.
Completes assigned tasks within structural fees/budget established in project workplan.
Current registration as a Structural Engineer (S.E.) in California or as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in another state is required
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis), Structural Engineering, or Architectural Engineering
5+ years of experience as a licensed Structural Engineer delivering structural building design services
Proven time management skills including setting goals, prioritizing, estimating hours and completing tasks on time
Proficiency in all levels of construction document development.
