Facebook’s AR/VR organization is seeking candidates for the Systems Test Engineer Intern role within its augmented reality (AR) hardware division. This person will be involved in building process for cutting-edge prototypes and user experiences that explore the future of AR. Working alongside expert research scientists, mechanical engineers, material scientists, electrical engineers, and software engineers to help create the technology that makes AR pervasive and universal. The position is to be filled by someone with a desire to investigate and create industry leading test systems that will help shape the future of Augmented Reality platforms.
OPTICAL SYSTEMS TEST ENGINEER INTERN, AR/VR RESPONSIBILITIES
Work on a variety of tasks including hardware test, system design, system/algorithm simulation, design implementation, and system test and verification of AR/VR systems
Support integration of system components and develop integration test plans and procedures to verify product integration
Performing analysis of data extracted from testing
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelors or Masters degree in Optical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related technical field
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
1 or more years of experience with programming Languages (Python, C and/or C++)
Experience using hardware or software validation skills
Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
Experience with robotics hardware and software integration
Experience testing and troubleshooting existing hardware processes and presenting/communicating data and results
Track record of successful execution on project-based work through coursework or previous industry internships/co-ops
