The Role

As a member of the Technical Support Engineering Team, you are the proactive front line and face of AVG Automation. You interact with our customers daily and make them better at what they do while improving our product. Being a Technical Support Engineer will require you to come up to speed on the product quickly. You will work with customers to ensure they experience the full power of our products, providing training/adoption and working across teams to better our product.

Technical Support Engineers provide a crucial link between Customer Service, Sales, Product Testing and Engineering. By operating in both the Engineering and Customer Success realms, TSEs drive the ongoing improvement of our products, services, and user experience. We focus on driving real business impact for customers, not just supporting the technical specs of our product. The ownership is tangible on this team - our customers' pain is our pain and their win is our win.

AVG Group of Companies is a mini conglomerate of many different electronic companies, operating world-wide with its headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. EZAutomation, a subsidiary of AVG, is in a major expansion mode looking to hire motivated technical support individuals in the Quad Cities area.

A Typical Day in Our Technical Support Department:

  • Working with customers to successfully help their application using our products.
  • Providing responsive and exceptional support to new and existing customers
  • Supporting our customers via email, chat, and phone
  • Capturing customer feedback, and participating in product issue resolutions and product enhancement efforts
  • Leading by example in delivery of the industry’s best customer support experience

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS or Associates Degree in Electronics / Electrical
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI)
  • Go-Getter: You are eager, resourceful, and put your problem solving skills to test.
  • Tech Savvy: You utilize the latest tools to make your work as efficient as possible. You have a natural curiosity for the tech industry, and want to be part of a high energy and passionate team about to make history

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in Tech Support / Customer Service (new graduates welcome to apply)
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI)
  • Knowledge of Industrial Automation Products to troubleshoot customer issues.
  • Familiar with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modicon and GE PLC’s.
